The Problem:

Collaboration Project was looking for a way to share its mission and values; however, their work was just beginning as a newly formed non-profit.

The Opportunity:

Even though Collaboration Project was officially just launching, Jon, Collaboration Project's founder, had a vast history collaborating with different churches, schools and community partners. He brought a lot of previously shot b-roll to the table to work with.

The Process:

Before filming, I worked with Jon to help craft his message and story. I secured a local coffee shop to shoot the interview, and all went well the day of filming. After filming, I logged and categorized all the b-roll, highlighting the best options for each part of the story. I then handed it off to the video editor. Though we had a lot of b-roll of prior events to use, we needed to shoot some additional scenes to show more of the city and community where they hoped to interact.

The Outcome:

This film helped explain Collaboration Project’s mission and vision, and they were able to use it for growth in the community. It was a lot of fun working with a vast amount of b-roll.

Jen is a great writer and storyteller and an overall wonderful person. I worked with her on a couple of projects and every time it’s been a privilege. She’s honest and makes my job as a cinematographer easy. She takes care of all the tedious and meticulous aspects of writing and production where I can just focus on my job. She will also make sure things are 100% in every aspect. All of her projects have turned out great and would always be happy to work with her!
