Indulge Spa

Indulge Spa is an established, highly frequented spa with great reviews from its clientele. When I met the owner of Indulge Spa, her website looked like this:

  • Design, SEO, Editing, Training

  • Squarespace, Custom CSS

  • Three weeks

The Problem:

The website was outdated. With such a broad range of competitors, there was the chance that people might pass by after looking at their website if they hadn’t had prior experience with Indulge Spa. It wasn't easy to see what spa treatments were available because you had to click through multiple pages to see the full menu. You also had to look hard to find a button to book a treatment.

The Opportunity:

There are over 570,000 people in the Madison Metropolitan Area. If Indulge Spa’s online presence matched their vision, they could reach more clients and stand strong against competitors.

The Solution:

A new website with a fresh, clean, modern color palette and an emphasis on user experience will make Indulge Spa an easy choice for all. While rebranding was off the table, a new website could make it feel fresh.

The Process:

I met with the owner of Indulge Spa and gathered her feedback on the initial site. Most important to her was an updated website she would feel comfortable editing and adding monthly specials. She did not have experience with web design and, as a busy business owner, did not have the desire to use and learn something complicated. I chose Squarespace for her website.

I used their existing logo to develop a color palette, transitioning from a deep maroon to a clean white background. When it came time to tackle their extensive menu that was on multiple pages initially, I used an accordion feature using custom CSS to keep the single page visually clean. Indulge Spa uses a Mind-Body to manage its schedule, so I placed a ‘book now’ button on the top menu for easy access among all pages. I also added a review to each page. Using my SEO knowledge, I optimized the website with best SEO practices. Because Squarespace is user-friendly, training was quick, and they felt at ease updating their specials page.

The Outcome:

Users can visit Indulge Spa’s website, look at the menu, pick a treatment, see pricing and book it immediately. They can read reviews from clients, and if they have questions about a spa experience, the FAQ page is full of helpful advice. The spa owner can quickly update her specials page monthly.
